hi all,
I've had the anti invert lines tangle round the end of the kite a couple of times. I was thinking about removing the anti invert lines has anyone else done this? does it cause any problems?
cheers tim.
I've thought about doing the same thing several times, they can be a real pain in the ar5e sometimes (my kite even inverted once, so i'm not sure they're even that useful). Looking at them when the kite is flying directly overhead, it looks like they're not under load at all but I can't really tell during the turning. The fifth line also doesn't appear to rely on them at all either. Maybe give it a go with somebody around to give you a hand if things go pear shaped, then let us know how it goes![]()
They are only there to prevent the kite from inverting, they're not under load in normal flight.
I've been flying the 07 and 08 Instincts without anti invert lines for over 2 years, and never had an invert.
Yeah, there is nothing that will happen to the performance of your kite if you take them off.
There is a slight risk of damage to the canopy in a roll through.
They were never meant to stop inverting, they were meant to stop the fifth line damaging the canopy in a roll through.
The kites do not invert.
The first thing i did when I got my new 07 and 08's was to remove the line in question ....never had any trouble with the kite, relaunching, nor did it effect performance.
+1. Never put the anti invert line on and never tore a canopy, although when it did invert once, my undies copped the brunt of it.
