hey guys/gals i recently aquired a 09 Slingshot fuel 7m just wondering if i can use my 2010 compstick from a 10m rpm?? cause im not really a fan of the lenten pro bar....
cheers Jake ![]()
Yes you can, Same line length, but the bar is 3 inches wider, kite with your hands close together and you wont feel much if any difference. 09 Fuel 23m lines 17" Bar, RPM 23m lines 20" bar. Enjoy.......
yes you can but I wouldn't want to. need the 17" bar on the 7m (max). I use the 17" on my 9m and 7m fuels (this is what they come with).
I think you will find the 20" too big.
The lenten Probar comes with 20m lines and makes the kite quite twitchy, I got spanked a lot. My09 7m fuel,I got neil from hold the lines to cut to 21.5m, as Im not as good as Ruben and am not 70kgs wet, it was a happy medium. 3 inches or 3m changes the diameter of the arc and the wind window. 2009 fuels are fast enough and are an advanced kite, stuff up and they hammer you on 20m lines. 23m is a lot softer, keep your hands close together and its sweet.
just cut the bar down, it takes about 10 minutes.
17 is still way too big. a 14 inch bar is perfect for the 7 in my opinion.
So what about his 10m RPM, it will be a dog?????, yes you can use both bars for your 10m and 7m, to answer your question. If the guy/gall asking the question, he/she was probably sold/aquired a kite that is a little too advanced for thier skill level. Just be subtle. Stamp, not meaning to cut you down mate, like it is with the lines.
7m with 20m lines is perfect. by all means give the 7m a crack on the 20" bar, but try it with the probar for comparison of performance if you haven't already.
Using too big a bar on a kite is crap especially if it is a 7m in 30 knots. Go talk to your local SS stockist to discuss options. Maybe try to sell the probar and replace it or you could rerig the bar.
the current fuels run 17 inch bars with 20m lines on the 7 and 9 and 20 inch 23m lines on the 11
its a really good combo and seems to match the kites perfect
I cut my 10m RPM bar down to 14inchs to fly on the 7m fuel.
Fine if your sticking to flat water, just dont take the small bar + 10m into the surf unless you like getting frustrated.
cheers for the feedback guys... i used the rpm bar yesterday in 25-30knots and it worked a treat, i only dont want to use the lenten bar because of its lack of "CSS" not because of inexperence and also i like the option of donkey dick easier to relaunch not having to worry about the chicken loop coming off my harness.. cheers for the feedback tho guys ![]()
