First day:
I'm blatting down the line having a blast. I slack line the kite and it drifts right into the powerzone. As i cut back the kite must have unhooked which is weird because my donkey diick is hooked in. the kite powers up and is ripped out of my hands... and then just keeps on going ripping my safety out as well... hmm... 800m swim in and i get the joy of helplessly watch my kite mangle straight over and repeatidly bash some boulders jutting out of the water.... magically no damage to the kite.
Day 2:
Ripping upwind on a head high wave. I like to ride my kite low when cranking upwind. This time a little too low... the tip hits and the kite noses in. i try in vane to relauch before the set hits. but alas this is the first of wave of a head high set. my kite 13m edge starts to get a real good washing machine so i punch to the safety. its still dragging the hell out of me so a punch out completly to save the kite. Then i realise i'm in a rip so i have to swim sideways to get out of the rip an back to the shore. edge survived the washing machine. so I suffered no dammage on both incidents.
morrell of the story? shiit happens!!. ...
But i've been pushing my own envelope lately and i've decided theres a fine line between pushing hard and completely trashing your gear
Plummet, sounds like fun....
13m edge in over head surf and it survived now thats a review.
Scary part is thats only two.....
Happy New Year.
one day 2 swims, just tacked back from the point after an epic session on the waves, decided to throw in one last hurah before heading back in, lined up a sweet ramp and boost at the peak i looped the kite as it made its way round whoosh felt myself doing the biggest unintended railey feeling unhooked i looked at my bar to see my harness there, hmmm this is gonna hurt , couldnt hold on then ping off went the kite dragging the harness every strap and buckle across my dial, so im pretty high looking down with no kite and a board on my feet, whollop slapped the water belly down and knocked every bit of air out of my lungs, this was just the start of my dramas, approx 400mtrs out watching my kite float through the air with a harness flailing in the wind behind it and during the event my board had come off and decided it wanted to play hide and seek, big decision do i rescue my kite and lose my board or watch my kite get picked up on the beach by the wind and giftwrap itself around one of the beach cabins at the local caravan park, **** it ill get my kite back in the air and body drag myself back to my board , start swimming cauncy, what the **** was that, i felt something brush against my leg sending me into phelps mode only more eratic, visions of sharks, sun going down, getting chomped, the lot, anyhows got back to the beach to find the entire contents of the beaches weed wrapped around my lines, no relaunch means no body drag means no board salvage, climbed up the sandunes to see my board bobing around in the ocean making its way across the reef , **** it cauncy swim, out i go again , now these sharks in my head had just got bigger, hungrier, the full episode of discovery bite week was being replayed in my brain in total HD quality, phew theres my board and a big whitewash taking my board within 50mtrs of the beach and leaving me flailing in the drink, **** it swim cauncy, got back to the beach on my hands and knees totally and i mean totally buggered, spent a great hour whatching the sun go down whilst untangling my lines then followed by a walk back to the slsc , only to see my mate pissing himself commenting on how i had a full on wake behind me when i was swimming, moral is how similar weed feels to a shark when brushed against your leg, dont buy a prolimit harness again, and dont fall in love with your board so much that your prepared to die for it. oh and how vunerable you feel in the ocean without your kite
Hey Plummet,
