would it be worth it to spend a bit more cash and go for the 2010 10m. Or are the 09's just as good?

go the 10 for less depreciation (11's will be out before u know it) and the solid pulleys, but yeah pretty similar in the 10m imho

Go the 2010, it has more power than the 09 and as stated before, less depreciation. If you can afford to buy new, definately do .

I think he was looking at it in terms of whether the 10 had any significant improvements over the 09, not how much it's going to depreciate :S

I reckon the 2010 is a much better kite, its definitely more grunty, and turns better than the 09. The bar is better, the bridles and solid pulley are better, the IDS system is much better, and the material in the sail is better too.
Unless there is a significant cost saving go the 2010, but if you can score a 2090 cheap enough they were still a very good kite.

Yes
both have the IDS system, but the 2010 is a much cleaner set up with the IDS landing line running though the chicken loop and centre line, so less to tangle,
And as the Capt said NO!!! 2010 has a way better bottom end, have been using a 2010 9M in 18/20 kts, whereas the 2009 12m will get you out in 17 knots (weigh 92kg).

i dont agree. I was riding 8 and 10 in 2009. And now the same sizes for 2010. I think the lowend is pretty simular.

The SB is an efficient kite, but can be slow in larger sizes. However the 8 and/or 9m combine that efficiency with more flying speed, giving a lowend performance that is very close to the 12m.

The main differences between 2009 and 2010 as i see it:
-2010 has a little more kick in the turns.
-2010 is more stable in the highend.
-controlbar

Not to mention the perfectioning of construction, materials etc.
