I've got a 9m that i'm still trying to get a handle on........
its a grunty kite, i find the power is punchy a bit on and off for my liking but that maybe due to lack of skill on my part.
Bar pressure is very light and i like that the power/pull is through the harness.
It's a quick kite, fast smooth turns, its my first 9m so i cant compare and my other kite is a 12m 09 cult and flys alot differently.
fantastic all round kite if your looking to push yourself, if your looking to buy be warned, the 2011 naish bolt will be hitting our shores soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have heard that for 2011 Naish are dropping the Cult & Helix and replacing them both with the <<BOLT>>
I hope they don't drop the helix for something tamer, I love my 10.5.
It took some getting used to but once dialed it out performs all other kites I have had by a long shot (for my style of freeriding)
The more direct pull through the harness is the first thing you'll notice as it really flies off the front lines.. Depowering by pushing the bar out does not luff the kite, it allows the kite to fly to the edge of the window to lose its power.
This usually results in a few spankings when you first get one but once dialed they boost massive, loop really nice and when trimmed right feel confident unhooked. It even works well with my course board due to the ability to fly well in the edge of the window.
Relaunch is usually rotate on the spot and it's flying with a pull on a side line.
This is my first year with the Helix and I agree with the other post's, nice pull from the harness, will definately hand you a spanking on the odd occasion
. The reason I decieded on the Helix was because I was after something that was more challenging, without going all the way to the fuel's or simmilar.Basically I just ride freestyle, and I find that the helix is great fun.Depower is good but not complete,it can handle you riding towards it well,(learning to ride waves). Probably wouldn't recomend as a beginners kite. I have a 12, and ride 132 tt in 13 knots (80kg) and swap to my 9 at about 17 knots. No idea how far the 9 would go but at a guess high 20's.These figures are realistic and not from any brochure.Build is excellent, and have had no drama's at all. Hope tis helps![]()
mad kite, not for beginners, and has much better low end and relaunch than than 09. fast and powerful and will punish if you screw up. love my 7 in the surf on surfboard. unhooked is good but not as much pop as torch. loops nice.
whats the goods on the bolt???
