In light of the groms thread ![]()
Hey ITL
I am over 45, will ya be aven a legends section for those fortunate enough to still be around
after all we have lived three groms lives ![]()
Would seam unfair we have to compete with such wee young fellas only 35yrs and almost a whole grom's life younger, those bones really do start to creak and grone after the big 4 zero, give or take a couple ![]()
Might help more grey nomads and even some grom dads that want to head north for the winter turn up and have a go ![]()

Come on all you other old fellas wadya reckon, would be good to get up there in the warm tropical water (note: good for after session aches and pains) and steady trade winds![]()
With other events besides the freestyle for the one entry fee such as beer drinking, coarse racing, the magnetic dash for cash (that's got a nice ring to it Marvin
)
It could be your chance to relive some of your former glory up there in hicksville Townsville.
Nothing to fear for me! (except breaking bones
)
Always admire somebody who is good at what they do![]()
But the reality is the older guys probly didnt start till they were at least 35 whereas the younger fellas have had the opportunity to start in the prime of their life.
The Nationals are not just a good place to check out the talent we have in our sport but also turn up and meet new like minded people from all over the country and talk about the sh!t we do so just trying to drum up some more interest![]()
O and dont forget the good kiting to be had in the warm north, I here the beach is very big and plenty of room for everyone!
more age catagories mean more people bothering to be involved as it is more worthwhile. Longboarding and wakeboarding do many more age catagories
in longboarding they got 30+ 40+ 50+ and 60+ , keeps people involved and ambitious which is a great thing. Best event i ever saw was over 40s kiteloop fest of destruction - most of the riders were closer to 50!
