Demoed the 2012 9m today in 22-26 kts half de-powered, I weigh 90 kg and wearing boots. What sizes should I get 12/9 , 11/8 or 11/9 to ride 18- near 30 and still unhook?

I know your talking about the Ozone C4.

If you still want to unhook up to near 30knots your going to need an 8 or 7. But i dont imagine itd be much fun.
But im thinking if your half depowered in todays wind, go the 12 and 9 so that you can ride comfortably in 15-16knots and anymore than 25knots just put your strap board on and go boosting!!

p.s nice kite, horrible bar

I would go the 12/9 at ur weight and with boots. I way 70kg and could get away with a 9m up to 30knots no worries and still be able to unhook at 25knots. A 8 is too fast to be bothered unhooking and a 9/11 combo would be too close in wind range...
I think the old bar is tops compared to the other rubbish out there (simple and clean) but I have been told the one you would have used on the demo will be replaced shortly with a new setup thats on its way.

The 12m is a joy to ride. I'll review it soon, but at this stage I'd say it's more slippery than the 2011 and can unhook quite powered.

I think there's just enough overlap to go 12/9 (my quiver, 78kg in Melbourne), but if you had 3 kites then 12/10/8 would be a rad quiver.

Get the 12 mate, you were kiteing much better on that C4 than those other gay kites you had. Don't be put off by the size, the best sessions I ve had have been on a 12.
My head still hurts from yesterdays kite might have to give it a mis today.

yeah definitely 12 9.. i had a 11 9 combo last summer and they were too close, always wanted more low end out of my 11 too and im about 6 kegs lighter than you. i got 13 9 now and its mint so 12 9 should be awesome as well
