At the moment riding 2012 Rebels but dont really like next years colour choices. Also not real happy with this years Rebel build quality.
I am thinking to go back to riding Parks but after having them in 2011 felt they were really lacking power compared to the Rebels.
i like the Naish brand but not sure how 2013 Parks will perform.Happy with performance of 2012 Rebels but not happy with the quality and dont want to make an expensive mistake.
Has anyone ridden both 2013 Rebel and the 2013 Park ??
I have had a demo of Mr Jaspans 2013 Park 10 and was very impressed.
Cheers
Why not try something completely outside of those 2 choices?
Ozone C4 2013
Cabrinha Chaos 2013
Slingshot RPM
Core GTII
The GTII looks interesting.
What's your take on it ... especially in the 12m/13m size?
Notice it's got pulleys/rings compared to none on the C4.
Also could be heavier?
Be interested in a C4 - GTII comparison.
Sorry for the hijack.
Tony
Why not just change Canopies.
Try the Vegas.
Once you try them you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
If you liked the feel of the park, you should love the Vegas.
They have addressed a few things in this years model, and made all those doubters that thought they couldn't make it better wrong. Great kite.
hi mate,
cant believe you are not happy with the build quality as North's (all of the kites) have exceptional build quality! In my opinion the north is the strongest build kite on the market.
As samoht said you should try the Vegas. Especially the 2013 Vegas is amazing with its huge windrange (especially top end), loads of pop and release, super stable and just so much fun to fly.
It be good to try the Core, Cab and Ozone.. kites as well.
Have fun testing
Have a Demo of the RRD vision , build quality, preformance , quality kite for all free ride and waves.
KSS has demo's of the Chaos in store at the moment so your welcome to come and try them.
Also next week will have the LF demo's in.
thanks for the feedback guys.
Just had an awesome session on the 12 Rebel down at Rye in about 15 knots. My problem with the quality could just be isolated to me ... i do crash hard sometimes...
like i said i love the kite but have had issues with the stitching on the leading edge and also the grip on the bar disintergrating . i have found the Rebels to be heavy to fly and relaunch if that makes sense and also found that they weigh heaps more to travel with internationally. Its almost like the material in the leading edge is a bit coarse and has allowed the stitching to pull through it on the seams.
The Park felt really light and responsive and relaunched easily.
The other option could be something like an Airush ??
yo rob dont just trial the major brands , the are some great kites out there, with as good if not better build quality and flying than some of the major brands, also take into account the service youll get if you get issues, this can quickly tarnish what you think of a kite and brand
stick with the parks, if you have ridden ewans and like them.
the 2012 parks had a lot more power than the 2011's.
or give the liquid force envy a go.
Go try an Airush Varial X. If you like the Rebel you may well love these! More C shaped than the Rebel with a little more grunt to it and if you take it higher in the wind range you'll soo find the turbo button! and then watch it boost!
Great kite...I have 8, 10 & 14 VX on order having just been on 2012 North.
No problems with my North Kites quality by the way. really well built
Choosing a kite on colour choices has to be the most mincing thing I have ever read on Seabreeze.....
im moving from naish to north this year bc of quality, had too many little tears in canopy and hear north much better..
had great time on the 2012 parks and leaning towards Vegas just want to demo the news ones out first bf i buy them..
very excited!
I bought a 9m switch combat a couple of months back, awesome kite. i wanna try the 2013 vegas and torch. My pet hate is oversheeting when unhooking - i got no time to depower each time!
Moving to North for quality is just plain ridiculous, especially with their lack of warranty cover.....
Well over a dozen responses to this thread. Pity only a handfull are honest, unbiased and educated.
Good luck with your choice Rob but I would suggest demo the kites your interested in.
Jas
Hey Peeps,
This thread serves to remind me how little most people know about kites.
Like Jase, I suggest you demo a few kites before you buy. The proof is in the flying, not in the pimping. Just because some members aren't SB sponsors or shops doesn't mean they aren't biased.
Do your homework people. No those with an agenda can red thumb me 'til your heart's content. ![]()

Go the Park Mr Robert Naish, my opinion based solely on the fact that next time we kite I wont have to look at the" Legendary" Orange beast. Have you looked at the Evo
"Parks but after having them in 2011 felt they were really lacking power compared to the Rebels.
i like the Naish brand"
You want more power, and you like Naish, try a torch out then?
