We kited 51 knots in Perth 2 weeks ago. The swell however was tiny compared to 6m.

Go hard boys. Have a blast.

PS. If it gets past 40 knots hold on!/ oh and get the misses to take pics.

Was one of the latest Plynn Fury 7m ,5m swell dumped straight on top of him and the kite went down between two Huge swells while he was being tumbled ,waves were strong as prob moving at 15+ Knots kite got pummelled by about 10 huge breakers before he got untangled and released ,was a bit unlucky.
He was having a ripper session prior to that.

Mutant build has started!. The press is underway. So... maybe 1 month. I still have to finish the boys longboard skate board for his birthday early july so that takes priority.

Hey Eppo,
can you surf the wave without the power of the kite on a mutant or do you need to be powered all the time. (Have never ridden one, but ride a SB)?

well i can ride a wave with only marginal power on the TT. infact in some light wind days i use the wave aparent speed to power the kite up and get back upwind.

so yes is the answer. You only need kite power when running out of speed on the wave face. if you keep the speed up the kite is there for the ride.

To a certain degree. Much better than a TT for sure, but you still need to keep some power in it, unless you are screaming down the face of a wave. The CB is very different to any mutant I've ridden though, so I wouldn't generalise across the board. Beauty is the mutant rides well on the toes, much much better than a TT. I then ride it out backwards and cook upwind..if big as wave sometimes will quickly switch on toes, to get over.

But very different to a SB, which is why I use it, not a fan of SB's., but respect those that do.

yeha grandma!.

25-40 knots of cross on goodness..,.... .. . . . . . Took the afternoon off and it was well worth it!

waves from tiddlers to tripple head. Rode a few monsters but mainly limited myself for fear of death to double head or smaller. ......

arrrrg.

Near Wellies? Yeah heard there has been massive winds there! Always thought you guys must be up in Aucks tackling Muriwai or something! Crazy, I would be avoiding that place when there is big swell and crazy winds!

Nah up here in Aucks! Had a session on the west coast a few weeks ago, even though the surf was only up to approx double overhead, it was too much! So dumpy, and the rips up here on the west coast are like nothing I had ever seen till I moved here last year!

Sounds like the Naki is the bomb! Hopefully gonna lock in a summer roadie and come do some surfing and kitesurfing

yeah i've done some double head muriwai dumpers!. nasty indeed. you don't want to get washing machined in those.

The naki has the best waves i have ridden. it is a world class spot. Time your roady for a strong westerly and yourl be bound to get some decent waves.
