Hi Peeps,
Thanks to all those who took time from their busy lives to pop in and listen to me ramble on for 75 minutes last night in the shop about bar rigging, aerodynamics and apparent wind. I hope you all learned something which may help you out of a jam, make a better decision, or improve your riding. I always reckon if you get one helpful insight, tip or idea from a program, book or lecture, then it is totally worthwhile.
Next DIY night will be on board repair to both Twin tips and surf boards. Repairing dings, cracks and rolled finboxes etc. I'm hoping to have a guest presenter who is an expert in the field, as this area I am OK, but by no means an expert.
Many thanks to my lovely assistants Todd and Nick
without whose help the night wouldn't be half as productive. Thanks Guys! ![]()
Until then ......

Thanks for the advice. Definitely won't miss my kite trying to backstall in lighter winds due to stretched lines, now that I know what to do.
Any chance of a clinic for kitesurfing in waves in future ?
Hi Everyone,
I was able to get confirmation from our special guest presenter that he will be able to make it to the next DIY night.
Our Special guest presenter is IMHO one of the finest repairers in the surfing industry. Dave Smith of Katana Surf in Osborne Park is the guy I take ALL my repairs to. I've had boards (twin tip and also surfboards) repaired by several other "recommended" repairers and have never been happy with the end result. Dave has done repairs to wood grain finish boards, epoxy's and polyester which were impossible to pick after the repair.
I also ride a custom shaped surfboard by Dave when surfing. I rate his repairs and his shapes and feel priveleged to have him at our next night.
I expect this next night to be quite popular and I expect we will need to restrict numbers, so you will need to confirm your attendance on FB or call me to register.

Another FREE info night!

Yer darren you guys get all the good stuff over there . I would love to see some of this fotage . I would go as far to say i even would pay too see some of it .
Hi Guys,
I was going to put the video camera on for the last session, but thought an hour of lecture would have been too boring so didn't bother.
I do plan on doing some video stuff, but probably not the evening DIY sessions. Lighting is poor and it's hard working in a smallish area so would rather do other video stuff in better surroundings properly and keep each vid to around 5 minutes.
Sorry east coasters
Maybe I should do a clinic/lecturing tour.
LOL
