I have seen some movies on youtube with well known artists but I tried to upload one using the stone temple pilots and youtube deleted the music saying it was unauthorized.. is there anyway around this or do i have to settle with the songs youtube offer.. thanks
Hi Milko. It depends on the band's record company. Some companies get youtube to mute the music, some place ads next to the video, and some don't care.
If I'm going to put a particular song with a video, I have a look on youtube first to see if I can find unofficial videos a month or two old using that song.
If you really want the song, you can try vimeo instead of youtube -they seem less fussy, but music companies and copyright will probably catch up with them too.
Yeah. I tried removing the DRM and windows warned me that it may affect the song.. I did it anyway and totally lost the song of my computer.. Anyway thanks for your replies. for now i will just use youtube's songs..
This blocking has nothing to do with DRM as the checks are done after you upload it you youtube.
Assuming your use of the audio constitutes "fair use", and you are willing to defend that assumption in court, you can try this:http://www.kaisersblog.com/2009/07/bypass-fake-and-get-rid-of-youtubes-audio-coyright-infringement/
In other news, this trick also is useful for exposing artists who are overly aggressive in their use of "post production" to make their voice sound any good.
