After reading many posts on here, I personally think the whole red / green thumb thing should be removed as it brings out the imaturiy of Punters and Brand bashers.... We all know it happens.
We also know that on avarage, out of a thousand read hits - 4 or 5 thumbs can remove a coloured line ... So in no way at all, does it represent true public opinion either!
Other sites dont have this - as they would rather have people be identified and explain their 2 cents worth.... agree or disagree. No hiding behind aprons !
Letting a prospective person with little knowledge get an informed oponion from the pros and cons..
Right or wrong, for many - the red thumb fear can shut down a persons creative and potentially valuable input... That means we all lose
A great updated website with an outdated vote system that discourages input...
A bugfix maybe necessary to get rid of a background virus on here ![]()
Nonsense...
Why read so much into a single click of the mouse???
Who is scared of posting in fear of receiving a red thumbing?
Bigger issues out there in the world IMO.
lol, thats pretty funny...![]()
It would be interesting to see a little graph below everyones name that goes from green to red depending on how many green or red thumbs they have given out.
I think there would be some people that would be fire trucking red!!!
I use another forum where your total of positive and negative karma score is displayed under your name.
If you get too much negative karma you cannot post for a while.
There are rules that control how much karma you can give out.
It is possibly the most civilised and productive forum I have ever seen. There is still plenty of vigorous debate. There's still plenty of good guys and bad guys.
There is not too much whining about the receipt of -ve karma.
You cannot post unless your real name is displayed.
The forum is tightly moderated so threads stay on topic.
I would rather click on a green or red thumb to indicate approval of a posting rather than waste time and words correcting some bozo on the internet.
PS A properly moderated forum would have moved this topic to the General section ages ago.
