Hello , we are 2 kiteboarders from europe and we come over beginning december for 3 weeks kiting and enjoying Perth. So I need a lot of advice like
-Car rental
-Good kiting place around Perth within 3 hours drive
-The wind speed in knots in December or common used kite sizes.
-Where to stay, we need an appartment for all our stuff. Hostal is no go.
-Stay close to the beach or stay close to the city center for drink and food, I assume we need to drive anyway to the spots
Please reply with your advice and we will respect the rules and the locals! Looking forward to escape the cold winter and kite in Australia
Cheers Remko
Kites - 7m 9m & 12m.... the wind doesnt always blow strong, I have seen lots of tourists sitting on the beach because they only brought small kites according to stupid
info on here !! Unless you weigh a scrawny 60kg ![]()
Rules
1. If everyone launches from the beach - dont fly your kite into the carpark to land
2. Stay well away from swimmers or flagged swim/surfclub areas
3. Put your rubbish in a bin
4. Remember everyone hates euros and local trash that do stupid things - that may get our kite spots BANNED !
Ive already got up a few Eurotrash kiters this week
Otherwise allgood and welcome to Perth ![]()
Aside from kiting WA speaks for its self, best tip, Bring plenty of Money with you, Perth aint Cheap!!
well as for woodies a no go in dec it will be beach 3 at this point that is a no go as for beaches two and one they are and can be used while the yachting event is on , and good luck to any yachtie that sails into beach 3 and gets away with it, the only thing about beach 3 being out bounds that ticks me off is correct me if im wrong why was waksa not keept in the loop,
Hello, thanks for all the advice. I am for sure that the beaches in Europe are at least as busy as your beaches. In Holland there are a lot of spots closed down because of the rules to protect nature and birds. On good days we have 200+ kiters on a beach, most dutch , german and belgium people. We allways stay friendly and welcome to our neighbours from other countries, but we have the same feeling that foreigners are ruining or spots!
I already discovered Perth is expensive, but its holiday and I better spend my euros befores the euro goes bankrupt
I have already been in contact with your mate Tom with all the info you have requested on your post. Just email him I think he has all this in hand.
