Knee pain in one side is making me think I'm not setup correctly. Have the displacement at it's full extremes of the duck stance. Anyone got some tips for setting the angle and width which places the less amount of stress on your knees?
jump off the couch or a chair and take note of where your feet are on the floor. whatever angle your feet are comfortably at is the best for your bindings. it's different for everyone. some people say go for maximum duck, but i don't agree.
set the boots further apart for a wider stance for better landings and balance, but don't ever put your feet at an unnatural angle.
yeah sounds like you have them turned out too much. I have mine set on 12 degrees which is nice and relaxed and suits me perfectly
My boots are nearly straight and I often straighten my right side a bit more than the left. I did this after I used to have a lot of knee pain on a seemingly normal ducked stance.
It is different for everyone. Some people tell me unless they have a massive duck that they get knee pain as well... So the best thing to do is take a screwdriver to the beach and change it bit by bit until you get it sussed.
How long have you been on boots?
When I first rode boots had a little pain in the outside of my left knee but after a while good as gold
I had pain for a while when I first started but the muscles in that area have built up. I had knee surgery a couple years ago so I thought that was the problem. Building up the muscles fixed the support problem, as other muscles were attempting to hold when riding.
I ride 6 degrees on a north board with an offset track so it's around 12-15. Full width
I had mine on 18 degrees for about a year with no knee probs. Recently experimented with them at 0 degrees and my knees hurt while going up wind, but the position felt pretty good with landings. Now I've set them to 12 degrees and it feels best all round for me.
I've always ridden 12 degrees duck, and all the way out wake boarding. So been riding the same kiting. Always been the most comfortable and natural for me
