chasing some music for a project and wondering if anyone has any mates in bands or are in a band them selves and want a bit of exposure. dont have a budget to pay for music at this stage but pm me if you have something, also if you know anyone in a band and could get them to give us the rights to use some of their music for a dvd. could be good exposure for any up coming bands. wanting a bit of variety, heavy, punk,mellow whatever or anyone know of any websites that has bands posting their stuff to use. anything appreciated
Youtube and myspace music often have a lot of bands that will let you download their songs for free and even use them in vids.
i know you can download for free i want rights to use their stuff for a dvd, not chuck on my ipod. pretty sure there is a website cant remember the name but. arhhhhhhh
Yeah, think you could be right man, I can't remember what it's called though either. But I know if you contact a lot of myspace music people they will give you the rights.
Triple j has stuff on there site in the unearthed section where alot of unsigned bands are happy for there music to be used as long as you put up credits for them. There is heaps of stuff on there to choose from.

How do ya feel about bands using the kiting footage you have paid for in their vids so they can make some $$ from their songs? Probably not so cool. 
There is always $$$ budgeted for vehicles, vids, accomodation so why not put some aside for music to use in your clips? No doubt the footage is ace but would be pretty average viewing without a toon backing it up.
Before there is a moan about the lack of $$$ in kiting vids and piracy etc, it is the same prob in the music industry. Why not get the sponsors to at least sling the band some products. A board or sumpin could raise the dough for a new amp etc for the band. Beer money would be the minimum I rekn.
Myeh.. if the bands are lining up to give you the use fair enough but I bet you wouldn't be donating your kiting footage for nix.
