Cool though - i'd do it...
1) This is the most stupid thing you can do with your kite as your harness is not giving you any protection in case of impact.
2) If you are keen to learn how to fly (either ridge soaring as this video or thermaling) you can find your local paragliding school on HGFA website.
3) I don't know which state you are from but there are a lot of flying sites in every state, you just need to have a good understanding of wind direction and flying behavior of your Paraglider / kite.
Note: Don't kill your self by using the wrong equipment in the wrong place.
