I have a 3.5m, a couple of years old. I would really like the steering to be a bit quicker - nice trainer but even fishpoling it will only do 2 loops from top of window to bottom. Not what you'd call a tight turner.
Just wondering if I shortened up either the side bridle set or just the back corner line, would it quicken up the steering?
don't think you can make them turn any faster as they are designed for learning so cant be too twitchy.maybe using a bigger bar would help. hmmmm might try it with my ozone imp one day when i'm bored ![]()
How Much ya pay for that kite man, does it come with a normal bar? My boy is on a smaller ozone trainer attached to some dale from an old crab pot handle. Wouldn't mind getting him something like this. Oh and for the girl, but she loses interest real quick? Weird?
Marty, from what I've seen it looks like the smaller sizes are defo twitchier. I might trade mine on a smaller one if nothing else.
Eppo, that isn't mine in pic, just similar age imp. I paid about $150 2nd hand. Comes with 3 line bar (short) with wrist leash. Looks like standard ozone. Drop bar to depower, reel in to go again.
I bought it for a fun beach flyer, and training mates who want a go of my kitesurfing kites. My wife has adopted it and calls it her kite, loves it. But a bit livelier would be fun.
maybe a knot in the back pigtails would shorten the slack and make it a bit quicker in the turn, or a slightly longer pigtail on the front to open the intakes more to the wind, worth a go, tgcp might be worth talking to as ive seen him ripping around the beach road and car park at dongara, on a longboard with the imp looked a heap of fun,
Unless its really stretched yourl be out of luck. its a low performance foil bro. they fly and feel different to leis.
There is one way. Thats to rip it off a bar and put it on handles. if its 3 line then you would have to aadapt the kite to 4 line so you can get break turning during the turns.... but thats getting silly. Just fly the kite and have fun.
PS i've just picked up a 1.5 for the kids and wife to ply with on the beach. that might have to power me on a longboard too when conditions are right.
