Nothing overly important....
Just noticed the kiters caught on Google Earth:
www.google.com.au:443/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode&q=arcadia+bay&sll=-25.335448,135.745076&sspn=47.294817,69.785156&ie=UTF8&hq&hnear=Arcadia+Bay+Queensland&t=h&z=15
Anyone know who?
yeah, that was a cracker morning sesh on the cold SSW one day last winter...I think the 4 kites were myself, my son Tai, Glennbo and TJN.
Great sesh here yesterday at Nelly in 20-25kn and incoming tide.....however, poor Big Al was a bit too used to the soft sand bottoms at Alva, and had a brutal reminder that Nelly is covered in lumps of reef just under the surface of the water at low tide....a high speed run up into the shallow corner resulted in a beautiful crash, gut slide over coral, kiteloop, second coral slide, and then a nice controlled kite crash / landing a few meters from some startled spectators on the beach.
Glad the mal meninga didn't need stitches mate, hope to see you back out there soon!
