If you are a sponsored rider and wish to increase your profile and gain more exposure for the shop or company who pays for your gear then KBm would like to help you.
In our next issue we are doing a big push to get more editorial for Australian riders. (Because at the moment there is a severe lack of content being submitted to KBM)
All you need to do is hook up with a photographer and get some shots.
We are always looking for
Potential cover shots/ double page features/ travel stories/ HOW to sequences/ etc
Just pick up the mag and see what sections we do as regular feature to give you some direction.
If you are not sponsored then being proactive and getting some exposure will go along to getting you sponsored.
If you need some direction or help message us on our facebook page www.facebook.com/Kiteboardermag
Thanks Beaver
Hi,
I am a photographer, based in Perth, if there is a rider around who would like me to take pics,i'd be more than happy to do that!!
I'd like to send some of my photos to the kiteboarder Magazine, it looks awesome!
please check my site at www.kitesurfshots.com
true, i downloaded it from my fb since i do not have my pics here right now , plus,i prefered to post a pic of someone I know over a better pic of someone i do not know who could complain afterwards for privacy stuff.. that's why I look for a rider keen on having some shots taken :)
There are guys and girls all over the country that rip. You would have endless amounts of content if you just looked for them. You can only do so many editorials on the same hand full of people before readers get bored with it.
whats with every one paying out the mag, its a sweet mag and they are making it every few months in a small sport. its not going to grow or get any better without articles and support from us, same with all the kite mags out there.
It's called user generated material the basis behind the explosion of info over the net, through social media etc etc. user generated and user owned, I think it's a great idea.
So get your stuff in crew , get in in the mag and shut the knockers up. Me, I'm not worth photographing even after 11 years. With my water boy hat and my seat harness I could go in the tool section. Although I can boost like a mother farqer
- kbm has been going for a long time, if they haven't got their **** together by now and still need help from readers then they need to seriously rethink things
- the sport is not going to progress by promoting amateur photos of tricks you can see at any beach. nor will people pay to see photos of pedestrian stuff they can do themselves, shot by their dad with a $200 camera
- i resent paying money for a glossy slingshot/bws advertisement. it was a far better mag when bill ran it and there was a genuine push for progression in the sport. it stood apart from crud like kiteworld and kitesurf because it didn't pander to industry like those mags.
agree with that 100%, free content is fine for free magazine on the web and stuff like that, when people pay 10 bucks each time you gotta give them something better. that's the reason why i never paid for a kite mag but i bought plenty of snowboarding and skateboarding ones. the photos are good and the articles are worth reading. don't see too many of them in kite mags worldwide.
what i'm saying is better doing a smaller mag with good content rather than a massive one full of average shots
Well I thought that shot of dave looked pretty bloody professional to me. User generated pisses from a great height onto so called mass produced journalism. Get with the times boys, you and Rupert Murdoch should swap ideas!
Tell ya what I'm gonna buy the next edition if me mate Dave is in it. Nice rally man.
Also it's the digital age, amazing what an amateur can do on the beach nowadays.
In closing though I do see your points, they do have some validity.
