Sit around Caloundra and no wind for 6 weeks then....
Fly to Sydney for a weeks holiday and the wind at Caloundra is 25-30 SE! Forecast to die on the day we come home!!!
Aaaaaaaaarrrrgggghhh!
Just got back from last weeks kite safari up past Cooktown, big thanks to Ant, Clayton and Gareth looking after us in tough conditions.
Would you believe too much wind??? Started on the first day 15-20kts, built from there the next 3 days, measured 38kts on the 3rd day but usually a constant 25-30kts.
Best time was 6am-8am before the wind built, a nice 20-25kts and then late in the arvo as it backs off a bit. It doesn't stop blowing, all day, all night.
So if your in need of some wind, head north but take a small kite, spent the trip on a 7 mtr. My high wind kiting has definately improved.
You can't be as frustrated as me. Also spent last 6 weeks watching wind or lack of in Hervey Bay waiting to try out my new Cardboard Freeride. The day after I leave for a UK trip the green arrows kick in and look to be hanging around. Forecast for next few days is 25-30 SE and I'm enjoying an English "summer" where it reaches a balmy 18 if you're lucky.
Jeeziz, saw the title, your name and thought you just had your car knocked off ..................again ![]()
After smashing your nose and now this, you must have accrued quite a few loyalty reward points at the hospital emergency room Rick.
Maybe you could exchange them for flybys and travel to PNG free!
Just trying to cheer you up mate![]()
