Let this be a lesson to anyone sending gear COD with Aust Post.

Had a 10m used Slingshot Ley for sale on seabreeze. A buyer contacted me and we agreed on a price. I sent the kite. Just got a call from Aust post to come and collect the kite. Turns out the buyer never collected it and now doesn't want it. I got slapped with a $71 return postage bill just to get the kite back + I'm going to have to fork out another $15 if I want a new add on seabreeze.

Lesson 1 - If selling gear via COD ask for a deposit $100 ish (postage cost x 2) to cover yourself incase the buyer stuffs you around.

Lesson 2 - Don't sell gear to <personal details removed> unless she pays you first.

No ya don't! It happens now and again that take the advert down on a "dead sure" sale, then it falls through .. advert gets resurrected free every time.

A credit has been put in your login, so today's not all bad news for you!

COD is ok, but yes your right...you need to make sure your covered if they dont pick it up. Get a deposit, and make sure its enough for you to be covered if it goes pear shaped + some, to make it worth your while.

Just organise the tracking number for registered post

I just had an experience with Aust Post, paid for tracking, insurance & registered mail.

Returned a purchase to Sydney (Australia ) It took 10 days to arrive. the person recieved the item and posted the correct item back to me.

All this time Aust Post & their tracking system could only tell me the date I posted the item. They could not even tell me if the REGISTERED mail was signed for on receipt.

So much for REGISTERED mail.

Not impressed with their systems.
