April is not good dude... right in between the westerly monsoon (dec-mar) and the se/e trades (jun-aug). if you do get any wind it will probably be the remnants of the westerlies. (on shore on the kuta side). for waves try jimbaran, seminyak, or canggu. or if your keen, sanur can be pretty good on the westerlies (cross off - dont screw up!). plenty of flat water options if theres wind. oh, and take a big kite... for more info go see (or PM) Jankie... 20 years eh... theres been a lot of changes... but it's still Bali!
You can go to Zooba-land hear there is a nice straight hander there. Take your arak and cappies and your clubby hat.
