Due to my work & home location I can only kiteboard on Sundays in winter and when daylight savings kicks in I get to do it after work but have limited time due to travel time and Sydney traffic. When I get to the beach I generally pump my kite up in a spot on the beach where I can run my lines downwind directly in front of the kite. But I find that more and more kiters rock up to the beach and decide to set up their kite directly in front of me despite the beach having plenty of space. OK I can move my kite after I pump it up as I do. But then kiters coming in decide to ask someone to land their kite directly across my lines as I am setting up. This is ok too but then the other kiter catching the kite decides put the kite straight down so the lines or kite are crossing my lines as I am setting up.....come on seriously. I find that this happens about 50% of the time and it's starting to piss me off because I have limited daylight. Seriously people it is OK to land your kite across someone else's lines providing that the kite & lines are moved immediately out of the way. But when you choose a spot on the beach to set up your kite knowing that you need to run your lines 20 to 30 meters, remember that the guy pumping his kite up or running his lines behind you needs the same space too. Please use a bit of common sense. Move a couple of meters to the left or right or choose another spot to set up.
You twat try running the lines on the same angle as you launch at that way when someone comes in they can land without your lines hogging up the beach ;)😁run some red light in traffic to
Hey nugs. Exmouth, sandy bay, lines out, two euros land two kites criss crossing mine, and I'm in my chicken loop mind you ready to go.
Politely ask them as I do to get the FARQ of my lines, which they do. Launch, can't find my board?
The third legend had set up his kite on top of my board!! Just pumped it up and threw it on top, no probs?
By now I was seeing the funny side and experiencing first hand what I keep reading about, plus they had two damn smokin girlfriends so gave me more time to admire the view. There's a silver lining to every cloud or some **** like that.
Don't stress, just ask them politely as I do to get their FARQiNG lines off mine. Real nice like.![]()
Hi Nugs You talking beach as ocean or you talking beach as bay .We don,t have that problem at Wanda .![]()
Sounds like you need to relax dude. Why not if you have limited time leave your bar connected to your kite? Just don't self launch because your lines might be tangled. But it doesn't sound like you're short of people to launch you.
Kiting is supposed to be relaxing just be cruisy and enjoy!
it is usually a large beach with plenty of room where this **** happens
ask once nicely to move their **** out of the way
2nd time tell them nicely "next time i will deflate you kite and maybe for fun cut your lines"
3rd time do it
they will figure it out somewhere in there
Everyone should roll out their lines at 90 degrees to the wind. Thus launching or landing kites don't interfere with each other. The only exception to this is if there is a lack of space.
