OK,
so I still hate my Cabrinha Backless Bindings (although not sure why as I've been to busy to kite for ages),.... Buuuut,...

Has anyone replaced them with more conventional bindings that don't flex and move around on a Cabby board, and if so what fits straight on, is light, and keeps your foot "locked in" nice and snug like a footstrap should??

No matter what Cabrinha call them, they're still straps, not bindings.

The LF Comp are a lot less flexible but still laceups.

i tried a pair of the 2011 Cab Syncs last weekend and i loved them. i liked them more then the 2010 sync's. Underground also makes a super comfy footstrap but im not sure how light they are

Hated the 2010 syncs, changed them to LF comps found them slippery and less hold than the syncs. Have a new calibre with 2011 syncs that are heaps better than the old ones.
New LF comps look the goods aswell this year but at $300 you can stick them

If they're 2010s or 2011s just let me know and post 'em over. Never tried the 2009s and did hear some complaints but the later ones rock in my book.

I have the 2011 Cab Syncs now for a couple of weeks and they are really great and really light.
Unfortunately one of them broke last week around where the screw holds them. :-(
so looks like the plastic doesn't holds to much force cos it broke after landing a jump.

Let's see what the shop will say when I'm back in Sydney next week.
Luckily I still can mount them just in another angle

I've just been on the Shinn Monk and they have the new Sneaker system..... really comfy and lite.
They mould to you foot after a couple of hours. great adjustment fore and aft.
I'm pretty sure the Distributor has some bindings seperate
Demo a Shinn and have a feel for yourself

That's the same fate that my old Sync's had. Got replacement plastic bits four times and just kept snapping or breaking. It's important to make sure you've got a washer under the screw head to spread the load as much as possible, but even with that i still managed to break them.
I'm not using LF Comp Lace's and whilst they're not quite as snug a fit as the Cab Sync's, they've done a solid job of not breaking.

I had the 2009 Cab Syncs for almost 2 years had never any issues with them.
More solid, definitely not that light but the did the job quiet well!
Next time I will try it with washer under the screw but the bindings were installed by the shop so they should know that....
Anyway - let's see how the replacement will work

Indeed. My '09 Syncs gave me a good 7-8 months of service before they broke for the first time. It's probably got more to do with my riding style changing and putting more stress on various components.

Should also try the 2011 Comp straps, you can adjust the width as well as the straps size (top twist cap), and the toe bar can also be moved forward or backwards. Best I have seen in the market to date.
