G'day
Bobs not well, he's had a bit of a turn, yesterday morning (heart attack) and he's in hospital and wanted me to let you all know that for know his kite repair business is closed. When he is feeling better he will make a post letting everyone know where he's at.
We will know more about his condition in a few days after tests are completed, but for now he is resting and sedated.
Please don't call his mobile, if you need more info call me 0433323299 or any of his family or close friends.
If you are one of the few that do have a kite with him for repair, his family will take care of that but there will be some delays that are beyond his control. Please call me if that applies to you.
Steve
That's not good news .Bob's a great guy and a great survivor (broken neck a few years ago ) get well soon Bob
All the best

All the very best to you BOB.I got my first twin tip off Bob many many year a go.Hope all works out well for you.![]()
Bummer!
I hope Bob makes a full recovery and is back on his feet soon.
Bob was a sponsor of one of Australia's first kiting comps in winter of 2000 at Woolgoolga. I won a VHS video of kiting and buggying from him. It was where I performed my first ever back roll off a wave
Didn't land it, but it opened my eyes to possibilities ![]()
Get well soon Bob,
KH
So sorry to hear that , he went to some trouble a few months ago to send a template for a board to me a few months back. I hope he make a full and speedy recovery.

Just heard from a mutual friend (Macca if you know him), he saw Bob about an hour ago, he was looking much better and was pretty much back to his usual chirpy self. However he is still going to be in hospital for a few days until they run a series of tests to see if he will require surgery or some other treatment.
He will not have access to his phone for a few more days. If you need to contact him regarding repairs, you can't, but you can contact me and from there I'll contact his family and we will do what we can.
Holy crap,
Thats awfull news.![]()
Hope you have a speedie recovery Bob,will take more than a mere heart attack to slow you down.
If it wasnt for Bob.I dont think many of us here in Coffs would be kiting.
I think I have said to him a few times "Thanks for destroying my life, since you taught me to kite, nothing else matters, family, friends, work. All get rejected at the slightest chance of wind."
Let any of us coffs crew know if you need anything.
And keep your hands of those young nursers![]()
Best wishes
Speedy recovery my friend. You have done heaps for us all here. Was suprised to see you on the water yesterday but it turns out it was just Lee using all your gear ![]()
I'm another one who wouldn't be kiting if it wasn't for you Bob....speedy recovery mate...and don't listen to Glenn...get into those nurses![]()

Just heard from his family that Bob had an angiogram yesterday and immediately following that, the docs inserted two stents into arteries around his heart and he had a third one fitted this morning, so it was a pretty serious heart attack and I think we nearly lost him. It was a good thing that his daytime emplyer recognised the symptoms and got him sent off to hospital. Bob would have tended to grit his teeth and keep working, he's a tough old bit of gristle! ![]()
Bobs in intensive care until the end of the week, he will be on strong medication and will need to be monitored closely are the stents were inserted. The great thing about that though is that it sounds like he will not have to have open heart bypass surgery, and hopefully he can get back on the water in a few weeks?
Any docs here know if thats a likely or possible outcome for him?? Bob will be shattered if he cannot kitesurf for too long.
@Jfree - very funny LOL's!!!
Knowing Bob,as soon as he's out of intensive care he will be seen running down the beach track at Sawtell , pumping up at full speed like an amped up teenager who has just started kiting.![]()
Best wishes as well Bob for a speedy recovery, and one day soon i'll be up there to have that kite sess with ya.........Tez from Newy.
Thanks for the kind words, No more please I'm supposed to try and keep my blood pressure under control.
Also my apologies to those who have sent me a kite in the last week or so. Being an obsessed kiteboarder I know what it's like without your gear .
I am making some arrangements to get some help and should be back on track within a week or so .
I had the heart attack on Monday one operation Tuesday another one on Thursday and they threw me out of hospital today feeling a little bit shaky and weak hopefully we'll be back on track during next week. unfortunately it may be five or six weeks before I hit the water.
Once again thanks very much for all of well wishers by email phone calls
and through friends.
