Take a cabrinha kite to Namibia where the trees are sparse and look how well they go.....
luderitz-speed.com/
Winner : Rob Douglas on a Cabrinha Switchblade ...World Record 55.65 knots
Not bad for a kite that is sold ( and works exceptionally well ) as a freestyle kite !!!!!
It may go fast but didn't quite stop fast enough, i believe that rob got rushed off after his run for surgery on his broken arm.
Anyone that survives that event is lucky, the corse has no run off now people are looping there kites back and crashing them on the bank to stop. Crazzy.
A lot of the videos have been cut so you don't see the crashes, but there are a couple where you see that the rider is about to have a big moment. Cant wait to see some more of the crashes.![]()
For those who missed the thread containing a lot of info on Luderitz (in the SA section)

The highlight for me is that Tim Pumpa, barossa lad, hones his kiting at Pt Parham SA is now the Australian National record holder.
