has anyone else bought the new Cabrinha luxury harness?

http://www.kitepower.com.au/catalog/product_17439_Cabrinha_Deluxe_Seat_Harness_cat_292.html

I got one a few months ago. Very comfy but I find the black clip that clips over the bar to hold it on keeps un-popping.

I think it's due to the front pad being loose and moves around a lot (not sure why it would be better if it was fixed), and when it gets pushed up towards the clip it forces it to un-clip.

Has anyone found a way to stop this?

My first thought was to glue the front pad to the bar so it stays put. But probably not the easiest thing to do professionally and not ruin the harness.

I also thought about putting a cable tie around the black clip to hold it in place and then having it loose enough so I can slide it on and off when I have finished my session.

Any feedback would be useful.

Cheers
Darryl

Hey mate,

I had one like it and the metal was actually beginning to break on the bar due to a bad weld -- I wonder if that's what's happening to yours?

I took it back to KitePower and Steve sorted it out straight away, no questions asked.

BTW, do you realise that you have to click the black clip over the bar? You have to push it quite hard to get it to seat properly but once it's in place it's hard to imagine that it could pop off.

I have had mine for about 10 months now with no issues, sounds like you have a faulty one mate.

no issues with mine either, seems like you're using it incorrectly or it's a warranty job.

i retightened my pad-screws once after first few uses but they're still tight now after eight months' use.

must say there's a surprising amount of rust around the welds though. cheap nasty stainless. i can't see any cracking at this stage but will keep an eye on it.

I've not used it very much as yet and so far the bar seems fine (except for a little bit of rust forming).

I realise the black clip goes right around the bar and it is quite a tight fit but it does still pop off, and quite a lot as well. A lot of the time that I stack it and get back up it has un-clipped and I have to push it back on.

I'm suprised that it sounds like it's only happened to me, I just assumed it was a design fault and others would have the same thing.

I've clipped it all in position out of the water and given it a good yanking around and can't get it to pop off. Maybe I just stack it too hard and need to practice more.

I suppose it might just be that mine isn't quite as tight as it should be.

I did buy it from kitepower but unfortunately I am currently in Cyprus and will be here until early November so I can't just take it back for them to look at and fix or replace.

I suppose I should have tested it a few times before I left the country...

Hi Daryl

Could you please take a couple of high res pics of the end of the spreader bar, where the black clip is located?
Push or hold back the pad so that I can see the black plastic locking clip.
I'm surprised to hear of this problem, we have not had any incidences like it. We have replaced 2 that had begun to crack on one of the welds, but it seems like that was just a bad batch, otyher dealers reported only minor numbers of that same issue. Cab gear has a 12 month warranty.

If its faulty, I'll send you a new one. What size are you?

Maybe instead of trying to squeeze into a 10 you should have gone the 14 instead

WOW - that is certainly above and beyond the expected customer service. Thanks Steve.

Are these the shots you need:

Please let me know if you think it is faulty and I'll send you my address. I am a medium.

Big thumbs up to Steve and Kitepower.

True to his word, Steve posted me a new spreader bar all the way to Cyprus.

I took it for it's maiden voyage yesterday, and it was perfect (even after a few big stacks - it was a windy day). I think it was because my old one was held on with could be described as cable ties (see pics above). Whereas the new one is screwed in solid which means there's no flapping around and moving of the pad.

Not sure how long they were making the cable tie version but if anyone is using one I highly recommend trying to swap it for the screwed version as it is much more comfortable and doesn't move at all.

Thanks Steve
