Are the winds in the right direction ALL around Australia to achieve a ROUND WINDER of AUSTRALIA? In a clockwise direction!!
If so how long would it take?
Are there any kiters in your area able to achieve this? I have one here in Perth Ian Young!!
CROCs and BOX jelly fish up north could be a prolem, Can you think of anything else which could be a problem?
Winds from Esperance to Karratha are achivable for clockwise direction.
Please add to the list of coastal wind directions and strength!
Central QLD coast prevailing winds are SE. Would cause a problem travelling clockwise. More favourable to anti-clockwise.
Might be easier to do a South to north Kite. Esperance to Broom or Melbourne to Cairns? I could be keen on doing an Esperance to Broom next season.
Even if you could find people willing to do it, how are they going to get time away from their carers and weekly counselling sessions?
Kiteboarding is about how high you can go, not how far you can go. Haven't you guys learned anything?
p.s. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST![]()
The hardest bit will be arnhemland.... No stopping locations, sharks iricangi, crocs, box jellies and light winds.... Better to stay offshore I think. Your only chance would be riding a north kite :)
Just wait for a huge cyclone to be sitting right over The Rock and you'll be right mate. ![]()
Why just stop at Australia why not go all around the world leave at dawn and if you can keep up with the sun you will have light all the way, what could possibly go wrong.
Yep use a Rebel apparently they are the best all round kite isn't that right Eppo. ![]()

No, opposing winds either side of the country
Just to do one side would be epic and boring as hell at times
I think you would need a fair bit of money behind you as well ,you would need a support boat to follow you all the way it would have to be ocean going and the fuel cost would be huge. You would need a boat big enough to sleep on when there is no wind and fast enough to keep up with the kites. Maybe you could find a few sponsors to help . I would give it a go, how many people can say they have kite surfed around Australia
Didn't some poleys do it around Tassie many, many years ago? I remember watching a very old doco on it a year or so ago, that looked like like fun, friggen cold, but fun none the less.
