Attended the recent kiterace in Brisbane as a spectator. Very profesisonally organised and enjoyed by all. I was however totally disgusted with a local kiteshop trying to cause havoc to disrupt the event by posting on facebook telling all to go and kite where the race was on, knowingly there was an event on. Even worst they told people to kite in between the buoys (to deliberately get in the way of the races?) WT?!? Then all their few riders came down in their red clown shirts kiting and getting in everyone's way. There is also this joker with a 17m Core he is either a troll or a total idiot, kept crashing his kite right in the middle of the racing course. I am surprised no one punched them out. What tops it up was 2 of their instructors came to teach at a beach where a kite event was on. What a joke. It is not a shop I would want to liase with at all.
Can you post a copy of their post on Facebook before it gets deleted?
If this is true then this really is poor behavior and they have done themselves no favors by doing this.
The comment on FB has gone..but there is now a sorry note. "Stupid throw away line" and they apologise. Weren't they one of the organisers? They were just geeing it up. Chill
Thats just poor form!! Im sure this kite shop wouldn't like it if the other shops organised something like that to happen at there race event organised for this weekend and i think if more people had know about this posting on facebook there may have been a few guys going home with missing teeth...
From what I have read of the racing up there it appears a lot of time and effort has gone into the organising the event for the benefit of the local kiters.
Very poor form to do such a thing![]()
Don't know which shop, but as long as you local guys all know, the word will get around and I am sure they will be hanging their heads in shame for a while.
To be fair i think it was said tongue in cheek and they have appoligised. Their instructors held their lessons well away from the course and didn't interfere with the racing nor did their riders. Towards the end of the racing there were kites going through the course but with 30 to 40 kiters riding plus the 20+ competitors and the tide going out it was to be expected and most people gave way to the competitors. It was a great day for everyone involved with some close racing, some good bingles and plenty of fun. Well done to Padi for organising the event and to all who took part.
p.s. Whats with the title? hahaha "Disgusted behaviour" I just picture someone walking around acting disgusted haha.
Chill out man.... do you really want to open a cans of worms.... and expose some of the behaviour of the organiser as well. As for punching out some one....... grow up.
p.s I wasn't there but I like my red shirt and you are welcome to call me a clown but only if you have the balls to do it to my face dude.
also instructers can teach were ever they like I was not aware that, this site which is commanly used for teaching by all was the exclusive domain of any individual shop.
I do have the Power, with a capital 'P', and I'm using that Power to lock this thread. It should really be deleted, but I thought it might be a good example of the sort of rabble that we don't want here, until it falls off the front page.
Go rabble with Rowdy if you must.
