Hello all you experienced and knowledgeable East coast kitesurfers. I am taking a few months travelling along the coast with my girlfriend and I'd like to know any recommendations for some good safe locations to head for. We are travelling all the way from Melbourne to Cairns, so plenty of scope!! Ideal spots are suitable for beginners with flat water and no nasty rocks, rip tides etc. Oh and of course a good place for coffee

It's way more fun to look at weather sites, google earth and accomodation guides with your gf and plan your trip.
If you just drive and look for places your holiday will be highlighted by nice little surprises.
Sorry for long time to reply, I have been offline. To answer the question I will be in Melbourne on 23Sept and leave Cairns on the 10Nov, so let me know what you think?

unless you want to party aswell i would start at Alva beach,near Ayr and make your way south.Poos all over cairns.
Should consider Lord Howe Island. A few of us getting into kiting now. What a great location
