Easterlies forcast for the west - isnt that bad?? , here on the east coast the easterlies are GREAT (when they are strong enough!!) When in Gero a few years ago it was the onshore west/ sw'ers that were the forcast of choice !! has the world changed in the west?? LOL
It means the weather patterns are changing and moving slowly into the fav summer pattern. It is always the first sign.
yeh the sea breezes have been coming in all week up here , just lacking a few knts , today would of been epic if only for a couple of knots, monday and tuesday 30knts and 6+mtrs, stuff work, the boss lets me have windy days off, i love being the boss, self employed and kiting perfect combo, im just gonna leave myself a message on my phone tellying me i wont be in for work.
Agreed with Eppo, and we've already had a few light seabreezes at Lano.
Maybe all the redthumbs people will not go out on the first one we get if they disagree so strongly that spring is here
lol
Are the signs(easterlies) a predictor of immenent seabreezes or just that spring is here. Haven't been in WA long enough to be a seasonal wind guru?
Yes just saw the red thumbs. People get ya head in the game and learn your basic meteorology before you red thumb. It means the highs are starting starting to position themselves so that we get an easterlies flow across the continent. This means that early on in the cycle as they just brush the west coast, these Highs (going anti clockwise) will bring in the south westerlys, followed by a few days of easterlies as they pass over through.
Bloody dusta, gotta be soon. I was fed mid August, but didn't believe hit hence had to go offshore. Even they have sold out! been at at least 20 times in that elapsed time.
Gotta be soon surely!
Mix the easterly, with the mist sitting on the horizon, sure sign of the sea breeze, dunno about an easterly its blowing close to 30knts nw, no sure if I'm gonna go the 8 or the handkerchief, yeeeeew
Love your optimism eppo
Hey Eppo - my bones are also now quivering !! I didnt see it when you posted a few days ago. Today we had our first easterly here in Gippsland - it didnt take long for the fledling easterly to kill off its power source ( dropped the air temp by 2 degrees- bugger) BUT - its the turn ( I'm getting your vibes and sorry for the previous post - I need to listen more!!).
That aside we are about to be hammered by a 30 to 35 knot sw change ( but the BOM are now hedging their bets) ... Spring one day (nuking) summer the next ( where'd the wind go - ha ha ).
WA ?? - had some time there a couple of years ago and def no discussion about boardies over wettys - WTF - board shorts.... and harness optional!!
Just wish i could find a job near the coast in your neck of the woods!!!!
