Hi Everyone (sorry for posting this again, it was suggested the General forum might be a better place fir it)

I've been thinking about giving kite surfing a go for a while now and have spend the last few days trawling through the forums and getting more enthusiastic. I used to spend quite a lot of my time kite buggying but this has tailed off over the last year or two. As well as that I sail and fly gliders, so it would be fair to say I like being carried around by the elements!

I had a few questions I'm hoping you guys can help me with:

-Who is good for lessons in Adelaide? I've seen a few names but would love some recommendations. I'm hoping I can skip ahead a little bit owing to having some experience with kites, albeit land based ones! Does that sound reasonable?

-Is there anybody in Adelaide who would be happy to have a newbie come down and poke around and ask annoying questions? Just want to come and watch for a while and meet some people who already do it.

-I have a buggy harness and 2 kites and would be keen to sell them to offset costs, or swap them for kite surfing gear with anyone who is keen. Is this forum a good place to advertise this, or will I just piss people off? (or get anti buggying abuse hurled at me??? )

Thanks!

Tom

Try Travs new school- Kiteboarding SA, Guy at Red Baron or Matt Stringer at Windsup....all 3 are good value in my book.

As far as meeting crew, just head to Largs, Henley or North Haven when it's windy and say gday- pretty friendly bunch.

Try the buy and sell on here to move your old kit...good luck.

Got any info for Trav? A google search doesn't seem to give me much. I am aware of the others and have contacted some. Cheers!

Just get into it any way you can. Perhaps the open day listed on the SA page. Get at least one lesson.

The beach north of Largs Bay Sailing Club is a great spot in a south westerly. Kiters are normally up for a friendly chat after a session there, and it is a long wide beach with cross on winds.

Ok, so first lesson should hopefully be this Sunday, weather permitting. Can't wait :-)
