Yea it's a similar story to the Frenchman Bruno Legainoux, he was the inventor of the bow kite and owns a patent on the design. I know that on the 2009 Cabrinha Crossbows near the tip where the serial number is printed it states 'Patent owned by Bruno Legainoux'.
The Frenchman made heaps of coin out of this patent and is widely regarded as being the inventor of the original LEI kite.
interesting I would have thought that the north rebel preceded the fone bandit as a delta shaped kite (it was 5 line though)
The airush DNA had a delta shape in 07 the 6m is a sik kite 3 struts etc....but F-1 defined it...the bandit 1 & 2 are still one of the best delta kites out there me rekons!.
Under the definition 'delta' the Bandit was the first and the Rebel wasn't a delta shape.
