let me guess, he was riding a hydra kite?

we are over you hydra, there is more than one kite on the market, things must be going really bad for the company if people like you have to keep flogging them on this forum, I'm that over it I wouldn't even demo one if I had the chance. Go to the review section if you want to continually pimp.

there is no reference to which kite tim was flying, would it matter if he was on a f-one or a cab??

and id just like to know what youve contributed to this sport or forum apart from the odd snide remark.

its a great achievement, pity people cant separate their personal endevers from a positive post.

cheers james

would you have posted that if it was achieved on a f-one oe a cab? I doubt it.

If you think that your sales tactics are contributing to the sport then your kidding your self.

Nice work Tim! The link shows 500m avg at 42.83 knots not 45.87 unless I am reading it wrong.

David Trewern was doing 500m at 44.81 knots in 2005.

I agree with Waxhead's sentiment. - Disclosure upfront. Cash for Comment!!!! Maybe Laurie can come up with a new icon, that can be attach the same as the smileys. But a small Gold Bell. Similar to John Laws Bell that was used when he had a finalcial $ interest in his public comments.

I too get a little sick of the constant Genetrix pimping- BUT- Tim is a good bloke and that is a darn cool achievement so well done !!!!!

the hydra is the only kite you'll ever need! from 2 to 200 knots, and when you finish it folds up right under the bed. plus if you order in the next 30 mins we'll throw in a free set of steak knives!

seriously if you want to pimp your own stuff you should get an alternate login like some other retailers

Thanks for the positive comments guys and for you who think this is pimping you are wrong. I have spent years making boards ,shaping fins, refining my style and a lot of hard work just to go that little bit quicker. Its not about the kite its about a personal achievement , one day i hope to break 50 knots but for now 48.75 max is a dream come true. I think 48.75 may be the quickest any aussie kiter has gone. I made my runs on a board I designed and made at home from balsa and epoxy glass construction, I think the fin was a 06 cabrinha which i reshaped to suit speed.

Congrats on the speed dude.

I reacted the same as waxhead at first. Guys with commercial avatars and their business names as their username just get people's hackles up on this forum.

We just take it for granted that he was trying to pimp his brand!!

Anyway.... all the hard work paid off....good one

Thanks Dave, the reason why hydra posted my achievement is that he's helping me try and find sponsorship to do the world speedcup and luderitz speed challenge. If anybody has any ideas or hints on obtaining sponsors it would be greatly appreciated . I would love to bring the official aussie speed record to kiters .
