Hi Guys,
Just got a Go Pro for my birthday and I am wondering what the essential mounts needed to get the best pics when kiteing are?. Also, those who use the Gopro do you use the floaty backdoor or not bother. I'm going to make a line mount and will probably get a chest harness but apart from that any tips would be much appreciated.
Any tips in general would be awesome too.
Thanks
Boyler
I dont bother with the floaty back door as I use a lanyard. The chest harness you can make yourself from the original packaging, just google/youtube it. However it the view from the chest is facing the wrong way and if you try and point it forward you arm is in the way. But if you mountain bike the chest harness is a pretty good.
I used a suction cup mount for on board shots but after the constant pounding it does comes off. However it does make for some good close water angles. A helmet mount is pretty good and reasonably steady.
I've recently made a mount for the kite lines from a milk crate and also a centre strut mount. Yet to try them though.
Y gopro is giving me grief it works but over heats and turns off. It won't connect to my computer I have to use a ad card adaptor do I can't update the firm ware. What do I do???
It also won't show the preview on my iPhone when I'm connected through wifi
You may want to consider the backpack mount
I'd say its about the best point of view you can get...
as you get the rider, board, kite and the background.. pretty much perfect
I made mine similar to this 1

The best tip I can give you is, after you make some footage that you think is cool, please don't post it, as it will be terrible in everyones eyes except your own......
Has anyone made up some good single line camera mounts for go pro that can be mounted within a couple of meters from bar.
Pics please
We made a mount for a ski rope all it was was a lot of duct tape worked really well but did work better when it was hanging rather than ontop of the rope
