Just got a new griffin 11.5 ,i am having problms with it stalling and falling back into the window. Its on the defalt settings, but the bar seem a very long way out on the launch. Has anyone had this problem, as i like the kite it got heaps of power, and easy to fly. Will shortening my wing tip lines fix this? flying in about 15knots.
G'day,i bought a secondhand 2011 argo and found it would not fly properly and unresponsive, check bridle lines are long and short where they should be like in this photo, worked for me.If that dont work get in touch with Chris, griffinkites on here ![]()
Other way round mate,if its stalling back you have too much rear line tension, either lengthen the wingtip(steering) lines or shorten the centre bridal where the pulley that connects to the centre lines is,if you make up a short extension for your steering lines its the easiest, just fly the kite and pull the depower line in till you cant stall the kite when you haul in on the bar and the length of depower will = the length of extension you need.
sounds like the wrong gen bar for the kite.![]()
Yes my line connects almost right on the pully, is that right, and i am hooking up on th last not on the wing tips as long as it goes. The bar was second hand and the kite new and the bar was ment be a 2011 same as the kite?
Hi, the easiest way to tune your kite ( and most any other kite ) is fly the kite hooked in, pull the bar all the way in and turn the kite left and right, if there is any hint of back stall push the bar out and pull in some depower untill there is no back stall at all.
Thats it.
A good thing to know if you get a 2nd hand kite and want to tune it so it flys optimum.
If you have any issues PM me, also PM me the year and make of the kite.
Thanks for that, it seems to stall on the launch it goes up about a metre and then stalls back, hard to power up on the edge of the wind, trim all the way out. I am going to try longer wing tip lines, and check bridal setup with Griffin. Thanks for the reply
