Coming back from my Easter break I stopped by Angourie (Yamba NSW) and found this sort of a inlet/lagoon called Wooloweyah Lagoon. Has anyone done some kiting there ? From my inexperienced point of view, it looked awesome on right conditions...

I have not kited there. Some people have taken a boat out to the mud flats to learn to kite in flat water as we don't have anywhere else flat in a southerly.
The downside; lots of mud, kite and strings turn brown, lots of jellyfish, need a boat, a bit sharky feeling and did i mention lots of mud.
The upside; flat water in a southerly and the lake is only waist deep.
In northerlys shark bay near iluka is a good flat water spot or just kite at pippie beach with the rest of the yamba crew. Most of us learnt at pippie beach in the surf.
Wooloweyah. Yes, location and proximity does look good but not always the case.
I did a bit of teaching there (Nov 11) and in my belief there are other better spots.
Ask the locals, they know. There is a good crew and not hard to locate.
PS, The lake is NOT always waist deep.
