I have some Dakine Heel straps with elastic in em. I've always had em and this is my second season starting to do a bit more stuff like backloops, bigger jumps deadman attempts, etc.

The prob is the heel straps take up room under the bindings screw and you need to go and get longer screws, because the screws no longer flush it means u got to use locktite and the screws have a nasty habit of soming undone. On top of that the heel straps have already lost some of their tightness and sit way too far back for support.

I've since abandoned the heel straps and lo and behold can not for the life of me stay on my board as this whole clenching toes bizzo is entirely new bizzo. I know I should learn to live without heel straps cos they're dangerous and Im lazy..yadeyadeya but I like em. Its awesome being able to attempt a move without worrying about the board falling off and pretending to be bait while u gt ur board back-plus I have funny hobbit like feet

Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Got a solution for my straps, suggestions for better heel straps or a bit of harden the f*& up

Try some different straps .... Cab syncs or liquid force luxury are the two I would recommend adjust them correctly and your problem should be solved.

If Len10 can ride as hard as he does without boots or heel straps you should be able to find an acceptable solution .

get some boots. failing that use bicycle inner tube; its cheap, strong, and you can tailor it exactly to the length you need

I use Mystic heal straps and have done for the past 4 years.

I have never really had a problem with screws coming loose but I have got into the habit of checking them about once a month and that includes the fin screws as well.

If your comfortable riding with heal straps that's all that matters.

Surely the easiest solution would be...

...longer screws?

Liquid force supplies their straps with heel straps and two sets of screws, one for with the heel straps and one for without.

Buy a set of decent straps (LF pro comp), put on the LF heelies and try to shift away from them over a period of time by pulling them out the way when you are riding most of the time. With the LF heelies, you can move them over the top when you don't want to use them.

The LF Heelies also don't provide much support which may move oyu away from relying on them

Cheers guys, new heel straps sounds like the go, not confident enough to go boots all the way. Was just gonna sew up the Dakines to make them tighter but thats just gonna make em pop
