G'day , still relatively new to the sport and was wondering if anyone could help me choose between these kites that Iv been offered, all for similar price. The kites are : 8m BWS noise 2012, 9m Delta Core Riot XR, 10m F One bandit 3. I'm about 72kgs and the wind range in my area is about 12-30 knots. Please Help! Cheers

Size is more important, as a beginner you'll have a hard time noticing any difference between the kites you listed above. For your body weight you'll need winds above 20 knots to get going easily on a 8m kite. 9m kite you'll need at least 18 knots at first. with a 10m you'll get going earlier and easier in winds averaging 20 knots. But with the 8m or 9m you would be able to push to 25 knots or more where as with a 10m, 25 knots you'll be best packing down.

So a 10m would be best for around the 15-20knot area, as this is most commonly the strength of the wind ?

Im 68 and my first kite was 10.5, it was all i had for 3 seasons and it was perefect in 90 per cent of days.

Get a 10m or 11m kite FOR SURE> If you are a beginner u shouldn't be out over 26 knots i'd say.

All three will be fine "if" in good condition the bws will be the easier to use (imo).
Check check check kite, bar, lines, etc condition if a private buy, losts of past sorry tale posts on the forum on buying 2nd hand kites.
PS the 8m bws is pretty close to a 10m.

I'm about 65kg or just under and use a 10m Cab Switch Blade on Sunshine Coast. Can get going from about 13+kn but much easier to stay upwind from 16. Only had gusts up to about 24 or 25 but they have been easy enough to handle by edging hard and sheeting out a little.

I was advised the BWS I could go down a size but some of the other brands (SS Rally I think) I should be looking for an 11m

Not my oppinion since I haven't used the others, only the advise I was given.
Hope this helps.
