I'm looking at buying an Airush Sector 60, but caan't get a V3, only a ONE. My understanding is that the ONE is based on the V2?

How long till they release a ONE based on the V3?

The current ONE gets advertised as the 2013 ONE!

Doubt you'll even find one overseas atm .

... I've got a Sector One Design, exactly the same as the 60 V2, loads of fun and great strapless too (riding strapless for couple of months now). As I understand, if you ride in 4 fin mode, not much difference in feel to the 60 V3 so you won't be making any sacrafices if you get the One. If you got a few minutes you wanna waste, here's a little vid I did a while ago:

cheers,

Robbie

My understanding is that the One Design was meant to be frozen for at least two years so they could get a one design race series happening.

There's no sign of the One on the Airush web site and my V3 60 has a One Design certified sign on it.

The Sector 60 V2 and the One Design are the same board (with some trivial differences).

The Sector 60 V3 is very different to the V2 (and the One Design).

Why would you take a sector strapless? What advantages do you get from it?

... I wanted to see if I would like going strapless on a surfboard but not enough wind around so I tried the Sector and to my suprize I liked it, lots of fun and as a benifit my footwork has improved because of it. The experiment gave me confidence to get a surfboard without being a waste of money and not knowing if I did or didn't like strapless riding.

A downside is you loose speed and upwind angle compared to riding it with straps. I put them back on recently and man did I shoot upwind with speed. Long broadreaches I could really put the hammer down and get the fins singing putting way more load on the fins. Funny thing though, ironically I kept tripping over the damn straps and stuffed up more gybes than I usually normally do!!

cheers,

Robbie

I just checked my board. It actually says "IKA Registered Production Equipment" whatever that means.
