I'm having a crack at fixing a near dead board, looking for somewhere to buy around a litre of resin and also get a price to see if its worth the trouble, any info would be great...thanks
hey mate,
Not sure what type you would use but have you tried Bunnings or a craft shop.
Maybe PM this guy as well. Looks like he would have a bit of an idea.

There's a boating / sailing shop in Claremont on Stirling hwy that sell epoxy kits with the mat, brush, etc. From memory about $35. I've fixed three boards and used about a third so great value.
Fibre glass and resin supplies off Orong road in Kew street welshpool have 1 litre I think you will need 250ml of hardener / part 2 to go with that

For fixing I would say get the G-Flex West Systems epoxy. It's small 2x250ml but man that WILL bond to plastic. About $50.
Let us see the photo first.
Colin Earle Surf Supplies, Collingwood st Osb Park.
They stock quality surfboard epoxy, 2.1 ratio and I'm pretty sure he'll do 1 liter for you.
Surf Sail Australia in West Leederville is where I get my west system resin from.
The owner in there is really helpful only problem is they don't stock the fast hardener only avaialble by special order but that won't be an issue at this time of year!
Call them on (08) 9381 1888
Every time I have tried Bunnings they have only had polyester resin not epoxy.
Thanks for all the useful info, I will try and get some pics of he job as I go if its not too **** :-)
We have "Epoxy Repair Kits" here at KSS.
$34 gets you all the gear the pro's use for epoxy repairs neatly put together in a bucket complete with instructions & tools etc.
hey there - not sure what you are tring to fix but when you mention resin - resins aint resins! Alot of the bunnings type stores stock polyester resin and this is not compatible with some of the foams in certin boards - I bet many recall pouring some turps (terpentine) on foam as a kid only to see it melt and disappear - not nice when its the foam core of ur board !! Epoxy resin is the way to go for most board repairs as its compatible with the common foam inner core structure of most wind and kite surfing boards - if in doubt check!!!!
There have been some scary stories of guys having a crack at board repairs only to select the WRONG resin and watch the foam in their board form a cave of gigantic proportions!! - and not much left to fix!!
If no luck locally try
Shapers.com.au in currumbin.
They have loads of top quality SB epoxy and ship it all round the globe.
If your down in mandurah i found it at the chandlery. Saved me having to go into the city. Look on the west systems website they list the WA sellers
