Saw a post on Kiteforum about how much guys in the US pay for their kites.
It seems like no one over there pays retail because they all get some sort of hook up.
Do people here in Aus get the same treatment and not go through the shops?
BWS gives me great deals; he emails me regularly, 2 emails in the same day sometimes.

No-one is a broad statement. There is more kiters on the west coast of US than in all of Australia.
Only the elite get hooked up cheap.
If you don't wanna pay retail then you have to give your local shop or the brand you ride a reason to give you special rates.
Are you a presence in the sport? Do potential customers approach you on the beach? Do you get your pic in mags?
It's a business. Shops/brands won't help you unless it helps their business.
