I keep having my sessions interrupted by one of the screws holding down my footstrap coming loose.

Anybody got an easy solution? Its starting to grind my gears

I put a bit of epoxy putty in the hole and on the screw before screwing it in. Doesn't come out in a hurry after that, but you can still unscrew it if you absolutely have to.

Any kiwis know of any shops that stock loctite up on the Hibiscus Coast? Does Mitre 10 mega have it? I can see online they sell loctite screws, but don't know if they stock bottles of loctite.

Cheers

Should be a very basic hardware line the smallest of stores will have.

Thread tape will do it...otherwise just cut a little corner off something made from nylon and wrap it around the screw.

Happened to me, pain in the arse. Glue holds for a while but not perfect. Go get a new screw, or better still new pads, **** it, just get a new board, You know its time.

Youll get it from repco or supercheap auto theres a few diff types so go for the permanent type will still release ok when you have to remove the screws, and leave o/night to set.

Grind one thread off and try it, if it still comes loose try another, that should work the screw will be too long. Often the webbing and plastic blocks used at the ends of straps compress over time, or the screws were slightly too long to start with.
Adding Loctite will only help if the screw is not too long. Do not use epoxy or sand!

Teflon tape will do the trick too. Worked fine for me and it is not a glue like loctide.
It mostly comes off from vibration ant the tape stops that quite effectivly

Found loctite at Repco. Having an energy packed brunch while I wait for it to cure, then off to the beach. Looks like 20 knots today, hopefully a little more on top of that :)

Cheers for your help guys
