seriously, i am all for starting a kite club and making the pond strictly a members only spot so all those tourists can just f@ck off and stop ruining our spots.
though i do like riding around and abusing the **** out of them, sometimes i wont even do tricks i'll just go to get in the way and yell at people

well its a proactive approach towards the council to show the locals care about the spot and its the tourists that are ruining it.

if you do something like this and make short term memberships etc available apon assessment from a certain school etc to show they have adequate skill and sense to deal with the spot's traffic it would work a treat. that way you an also regulate the numbers using the area keeping it un crowded as well as keeping out everyone who's going down there to try teach their mates etc. i'm pretty sure aksa had something similar for Cottesloe a while ago?

today i went down there and within about 5 minutes some kook crashed his kite right over mine and he just flounders around having no clue what to do so he lets go of his bar (my kite has gone through his lines) so my kite is pulling on one side of his bar and hes just being an idiot so i had to swim through his lines while his kites powered up.

just after that mess there is 3 tourists just short tacking and cutting in down wind of everyone and cruising at a sh!t speed which makes it impossible to unhook and do anything. its just a joke.
