Hi All. Bit of advice would be appreciated. Doing a trip to Rainbow Beach near DI this weekend. Is Inskip Point any good in SE's or is it worth the drive around to Tin Can Bay? Don't have a 4WD to get to DI, but I suppose it's not worth it in SE's anyway?
Cheers, Steve.
Contact George and the guys at Noosa Adventure Sports.
I believe they know the area pretty well (particularly DI)
Should be able to give you some good advice.

Te eastern (ocean) Inskip works well on a SE when the tide is going out.
Very sharky though :)
Rainbow gets gusty and lots of boats moored in the bay.
Best to stick to the ocean side at Rainbow itself and get some excellent surf. Just watch the high tide as the beach can get very narrow.
DI only works on SW to NW (lagoon side) or Se on the south side of DI.
Sure. Do a downwinder from Rainbow to Inskip.
Last time i was there there was a massive sweep current heading down the coast which killed a lot of the kite power. I don't know if that's typical.
Sometime you can get small clean waves as you round the corner towards Inskip.
If it's an outgoing tide you can use it to zoom between Inskip and Fraser Island, but be careful, it's a strong current.
