Hi,

Couldn't find anything in the search.

Is there a good dvd for the different techniques on kite wave riding? Just getting into it after 2 years kiting (and 10 surfing), and want to progress as fast as possible. I found the progression series excellent for freesytle and am wondering if there is anything as good for waves.

Cheers,
Tom

Cheers guys,

Not sure if it's the same with wave kiting. But I found watching the DVDs on freestyle unbelievable helpfull. Especially with unhooking and downloops. Obviously practice is the most important, but I think it's good to have knowledge of how to do it.

Cheers,

Tom

Real Kiteboarding have had one out for a while now:

www.realwatersports.com/collections/kiteboarding?id=1237&page=newsitem

Parts of it are pretty basic, doesn't quite have the level of detail of the Fat Sand Progression style DVD's, but it's not too bad.

Cheers,

Manny

Well go ahead and take the advice as stated above ......if you want to look like a kook and not have any idea of what you are doing -

I have been to one of Bens wave camps and what you learn in the first 2 hours would probably take you 2 years to learn by yourself.

If you were into golf and didnt care about how you played - you ' d probably never take a lesson
If you did care you would take a lesson or watch dvds from the best -
I personally want to be the best I can be at the sport I love - so thats why I choose to watch dvds and go to clinics -
At the very least you'll get some inspiration!!!

Unfortunately I spent the money for "Smack". I dont really have a surfing background but many years of windsurfing. For me it was a waste of money. I thought it might be useful for someone that has no experience with waves at all. I had been espacially curious about unhooked waveriding but there is hardly anything about that in it. What helped me much more was watching other peoples videos. Espacially from guys like Felix Pivec, Reo Stevens, Ian Allridge and such.

I would like to rephrase this comment.. Smack didn't teach me squat.. I have surfed for 35 years but only kited for a few and in this movie they don't teach you anything about kite position or which way to fly it while doing cutbacks and re-entry's.. in fact you can barely see the kite throughout the whole movie.
