The most terrible news that our kiting mate BEN CHUCK was one of three Special Forces soldiers killed in chopper crash in Afghanistan....
He was such a nice bloke....I just can't believe he's gone.
R.I.P Mate.

Anyone who puts their life on the line for their country is a hero in my eyes, irrespective whether the lose their life or not. The fact is that he did, condolences to all that knew him, loved him, for who he was, may the memories last a lifetime.
holy ****, didn't believe it when i saw it on the news just now...
great bloke, will be sorely missed.
R.I.P.
That is terribly bad news. Ben was a really nice guy. He was a career soldier and work hard to get into the Special Forces. My condolences and sympathy to his Family. He will be sorely missed
One of the nicest guy's I and many others have ever meet. I remember discussing the army life with him some years ago. It was his thing, he loved what he did, he trained hard to achieve the results of what he did.
R.I.P mate, you will be sadly missed by many, however still an inspiration in our thoughts
Condolences to his family and the families of the other soldiers,
i only spoke to ben on a handfull of occasions. He borrowed my kayak one day to rescue kenny who was hanging off a green marker bouy after a kitemare. The conditions on that day were terrible and it was a supreme effort.
He was a great guy and will be missed.....
Such a tragic loss. He will be missed, such a great guy.
Condolences to his friends and family,
RIP Chucky
I can't believe Chucky is gone, stupid war!
Had a long session today for you mate, you would have loved where I'm kiting, I think you know where!
RIP and condolences to the Chuck family (and all Bens friends).
Rest in Peace Ben, Tim and Scott
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest we forget

Ben and his fallen Special Forces mates are on their way back to Australia...per ABC news a short while ago.
It is my understanding that there will be a memorial service in Sydney but I'm not sure when.
If anyone has information could you please post it here. I'm sure kiting buddies of Ben will want to attend.
The link to Defence Dept. is the media release they put out about Ben.
thanks
