Hey guys well I went to go for a session yesterday and went to blow up my 9m and have found a small leak on the valve in 1 of the struts, I have googled how to repair a valve on the strut ( this is my first repair ) but as I dont have a kite shop within 100km of me I was wondering what glue I could use from Bunnings to get this fixed so I can go out this weekend

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Tim

If you have to use whats at hand, I would buy a bicycle puncture kit and use that glue. If you are desperate, the end of the struts usually have some extra on the end you could cut a small piece to use as a patch.

First check all the stuff what came with your kite, mine have a small sticky patch just for this job.

Good luck, make sure you use string if you have to take the whole bladder out and be careful to put it back in straight.

Try seam sealer from the camping shop, wetsuit glue or any other glue with Toluene in it.

bike patch glue don't do sh!t.

#1 get aquaseal and cotal if available. (this is a toluene polyeurathane glue)

Bunnings have Vise polyeurathane glue. it will adhere to kite bladders but sets a bit brittle and foamy if any moisture present.

All others (and i've tried a lot) FAIL.

......AND remove the valve, use hot water if you have to. restick the whole thing between two circles of foam/wood/washers something donut shaped (but not a donut) pressed together.

get some u stick valves online for next time.

And when you but the bladder back in use a baby bum powder and coat the bladder well. This schould prevent it from sticking or getting glued together with the kite.
