Every since special affects where invented the trick is to make the unbelievable believable

I reckon the seal would see the kite board coming from a long way off and would be nowhere near a kiteboarder.
Very slim chances of a kiter doing a trick and a seal actually jumping in the same shot!

There are two brands in this shot and we are all looking at them a lot

It happened to me twice when kitesurfing around Perth.
They were playing and chasing me around in the water.

So was this just a jump and a seal happened to leap out of the water at the same time?

Or was the rider intending to jump over its head and it didn't realise he was going to jump it?

Or some other? .....

Well I will be buggered and to have a camera on hand at the same time

Always thought they would be frightened off, when ever I get close to dolphins they disappear and thought the seals would be the same

Good stuff

Be careful fellas....little seal at Lano a few years back took a nasty bite out of a surfer while she was riding the wave I believe.

And where there's playful seals there's something around the corner looking for a meal.

Nice shot!

Yup plenty of seals around Lancelin, one launched out of the water and bit a girl on the neck/face while skurfing maybe 5 years ago near the island? Not going to pretend to know all the details but i have heard the story from the bloke driving the boat and pulled her from the water. Apparently missed her carotid artery by millimeters.

They are quick, agile and have great awareness but it it still easy enough to sneak uP on them on kites, dolphins too.
