I don't have many good ideas but I think I might be onto something..
*Rotto has a heap of beaches..
*Has a pub, accom, shops, bottleshop too..
*Back to basics and non commercial..
*Ticket price per day depending on how many days you require ($50 per day max)
*Get local sea rescue/ coast guard to do BBQ lunch (proceeds to them)
*Close to Perth, option to take ferry back if you have had enough.
*Numbers guaranteed, most kite shops would play the game also with representing and demo's.
*Beers/softies proceeds to WAKSA
*Fresh location and easy to get to. Also suitable for families.
*Kite, swim, snorkel, pub, eat, stoke, repeat.
Comments??
Go.
it sounds good but is rotto council going to be just as enthusiastic about the idea?
also how is kiting in rotto? would the rocks get in the way? I wouldn't know because I havent been kiting there but I can imagin the beaches to be quite small for kiting no?
Whilst it sounds great in theory I doubt it would ever happen, prices would go through the roof, there is not enough accommodation at the time of year that you get regular seabreezes, there is not a beach big enough, Salmon Bay would be the only option, and it is fringed by reef and rocky headlands and is a few K's from accommodation, it would be a logistical nightmare.......but...... if you can get it happening I will go. ![]()
Strangely.... alternate locations come up every year... yet, it always go back to Dongara.... a bit of a drive makes it more of an aussie advent... nowhere to go home but party... plus the few km of flat hard sandy beach with the breaks around the lighthouse.... and with stronger than Perth and more consistent wind... how much better it has to be...![]()
